The BLUE-TEC coating was developed by Karnasch to withstand the extreme conditions of industrial milling and deburring. It acts as a thermal and anti-friction shield over the tungsten carbide, protecting the cutting edges from premature wear and preventing chip welding, even during intensive dry machining of hard materials (stainless steel, titanium alloys, nickel alloys, and cast iron).
