0.7 mm Technical Clearance: Cutting Geometry and Sheet Thickness

The 0.7 mm clearance in a Ø27.5 mm die is optimally dimensioned for working with carbon steel sheet thicknesses of approximately 3.5 mm to 4.5 mm (applying the technical rule of 15–20% of the material thickness). Proper clearance prevents premature wear from friction between the punch and the die wall, drastically reduces the tonnage required by the machine, and avoids excessive burr formation or conical deformation of the drill bit.

Technical Advantages

  • Universal Standard No. 6: Full compatibility with the die holders of the most widespread mechanical and hydraulic punching machines on the market (Geka, Peddinghaus, Mubea, Sunrise, etc.).

  • High Toughness and Hardness Tool Steel: Resists continuous lateral compression and impact stresses without deformation at the die mouth.

  • Chip Outlet and Relief Basin: Ground lower channel with relief taper to allow the smooth and rapid fall of the drilled slug (slug) without traffic jams.

  • data-path-to-node="7,3,0">Precision Fit and Centering: Precision-ground seat that ensures ideal alignment with the punch, preventing breakage caused by misalignment.

 Technical Product Specifications

  • Product Reference: M6R2820.

  • Material Compatibility: Structural steel sheet (S235, S275, S355), stainless steel, galvanized sheet, and aluminum alloys.

  • Clearance Selection: For thinner sheet metal (e.g., 1.5–2 mm), dies with smaller clearance (0.2–0.4 mm) are recommended; For thicknesses of 3.5 to 4.5 mm, the 0.7 mm clearance of die Ref. M6R2820 is the ideal configuration.

  • Recommended Maintenance: Keep the die housing and base free of metal shavings and debris before securing the locking set screw, ensuring that the top surface remains flat and parallel.
